| Earthquakes strike suddenly,
without warning. Geologists have determined that San Diego County could sustain an
earthquake of a magnitude of 7.8 on the Ritcher Scale. The Landers/Big Bear Quake was 7.3
magnitude and fortunately was in a rural part of southern California, still resulting in
one death and $93 million in damages. The devastating Northridge Quake was 6.7 magnitude
resulting in 57 deaths, 11,000 injuries, and $25 billion in damages. Earthquake
preparedness is an essential component of an IIP program. This link would
include your company Earthquake Procedure Plan, in addition to being in your Written
manual version of your IIP Program.
